A Summer of Romance!

Summers are meant for beaches, popsicles, and romance! That's why we've curated this virtual YA event filled with books sure to give you butterflies. From donut baking competitions, to self-penned songs, to the streets of Hong Kong during political protest, to a strong group of seven siblings this panel shows us we can find love anywhere, even in the unlikeliest of places.

  • The Dos and Donuts of Love by ADIBA JAIGIRDAR. Shireen Malik is still reeling from the breakup with her ex-girlfriend, Chris, when she receives news that she's been accepted as a contestant in a new and televised baking competition. The only problem? Her ex is a contestant, too!

  • Rhythm and Muse by INDIA HILL BROWN. Darren believes his crush on Dellie will never be reciprocated. But when Dillie puts out a call for listeners to make a theme song for her podcast, Darren bites the bullet and submits a song... which Dillie loves! As Dillie sets out to uncover the mystery singer behind the track, Darren has to decide: Is he ready to step out of the shadows and take the lead in his own life?
  • An Echo in the City by K. X. SONG.  Two star-crossed teens fall in love during protests in Hong Kong. Phoenix wants to do whatever she can to save the city she loves. Kai is a police academy student who only wants to make his father proud. But when these two teens meet on opposite sides of the protest, they find themselves inexplicably drawn to each other...

  • As Long as We're Together by BRIANNA PEPPINS. Sixteen year-old Novah cares for her five younger siblings when her parents are at work, while her older sister Ariana is excused due to her volleyball scholarship potential. When a car accident takes their parents' lives and leaves the seven heartbroken kids on their own, Ariana, freshly eighteen, convinces the judge to give her temporary custody. If she can keep her family running smoothly, they'll get to stay in their home. If not, they'll be placed into foster care. Will the girls be able to keep it all together? Or will they be forced to say the hardest goodbyes of all?
