Thank You, Neighbor! by Ruth Chan

Come along and greet all of the people in the neighborhood — the mail carrier and bus driver to the sanitation workers and grocery clerks and more. Whether listening, asking, helping, or just saying hello and thank you — it is our patience and kindness that make a neighborhood feel like home. This charming story gently reminds us to slow down and be grateful for all the people, places, and things around us.

Ruth Chan's signature illustrations are hilarious and heartfelt and perfectly complement the lively text. The book also includes an author's note where Ruth talks about how her own Brooklyn community inspired her to create this special book.

Happy Friendsgiving illustrated by LAURA SANDOVAL HERRERA

With its rhythmic text and vibrant illustrations, this book shows readers how family takes on many forms, as friends, neighbors, and relatives arrive for a busy day of cooking, crafting, sharing, and celebration. It also shows young readers how to remember and honor those who must work on the holiday so that others might celebrate, including transit workers and first responders.

America Gives Thanks written by BOB MCKINNON

America is very excited for their class’s upcoming field trip to Washington, DC, but the other kids start complaining about how not excited they are. Their teacher uses this as a learning opportunity: sometimes complaining — when done right — can actually be useful.

As the class visits historic halls and monuments, historical figures come alive for America. Each figure offers tales on how complaining can lead to long-lasting change and hope for a better world. For that, America is so thankful.

Sharing by ROSEMARY WELLS

Every night, Charles puts his favorite things to bed: his little doctor kit, his racing skates, his space man, his xylophone, his magic stars, his alligator, his Lionel Messi football, and his pecka-pecka chicken farm.

One day, Charles takes his toys to the park, where he meets some other kids who wants to play with him…but can Charles learn to share his favorite things?
