First edition. The story of a Norwegian boy growing up between the world wars, who learns about freedom and the value of defending it, eventually growing up to be a WWII flyer. Through beautiful illustrations, in the D'Aulaires unmistakable style, we explore Per's journey from his hometown, to America, and becoming a pilot.
