First edition. A wonderful collection of 16 animal stories by author, naturalist and conservationist Thornton Burgess. While the children gather around the fireplace in the Old House watching the “story-log” burn, the Storyteller regales them with tales of old Monkey-face the Barn Owl, Blacky the Crow, Thunderer the Grouse, Jumper the Hare, Plunger the Osprey, King Eagle, and other stories of the Green Meadow and the Green Forest.
