Pictorial endpapers; b&w illustrations on every other page. Spine sunned with some faint damp-staining at end;, edges and corners rubbed; boards sunned at fore-edge and where they meet spine (corresponding to sunning of jacket), tear down entirety of pages 43-44 mended with cello-tape, else an internally clean, tight copy in original color pictorial dust jacket (sunned at spine and all edges, some wear and small chips at corners, ends of spine panel, and base).
First edition. The classic tale of a peaceful bull who just wants to sit under his favorite cork tree and smell the flowers. Lawson and Leaf’s beloved tale has delighted readers for nearly a century, and this scarce first edition is a wonderful addition to any collection of children’s literature. The basis for the 1938 animated short and the 2017 feature film. While hardly a pristine copy, this is a scarce and highly sought after book.
