Light rubbing around edges, page edges a bit foxed, but not affecting illustrations or text, else a clean, bright copy. Scarce.
First edition. Kate Greenaway’s Almanacks were issued every year from 1883 until 1897 with the exception of 1896, and each contains calendars, lists of holidays, and astronomical information, all wonderfully highlighted by Greenaway’s intricately delicate color illustrations. The trade issue was done in pictorial boards, while this deluxe hardcover edition is gorgeously bound in full velum and intricately decorated in gilt to create a lovely pocket calendar packed with Greenaway’s warm illustrations.
