Emily Arnold McCully (1939-) is an American author and illustrator who has received numerous awards, including the 1993 Caldecott for Mirette on the High Wire. Outlaw Thanksgiving tells the story of passengers on a snowbound train who end up dining with Butch Cassidy. McCully's loose watercolor brushstrokes bring to life the driving snow and isolated train in this old western landscape.
