Casting April

We'll be entering the world of the theater at the launch for middle grade novel Casting April—with author WENDY LU! 

This book follows Sixth grader April Xue, who lives and breathes all things Broadway. When she builds up the courage to audition for the lead role in the school play, she thinks she's nailed it — until she finds out that she's been assigned to the stage crew and overhears that Ms. Rooney decided not to cast her because she's disabled. With the help of her best friend (a student reporter) and her castmates, April learns to confront her own insecurities and proves to everyone that she deserves a fair shot — all in time for opening night.

It's a story all about friendship, identity, and the importance of chasing your dreams—and you just can't afford to miss it! Also joining the production will be STACY DAVIDOWITZ, author of Cut Loose! (Chance to Fly #2) and fellow theater enthusiast. Listen in for a discussion of books, writing, and (of course) this great new read!
