[WORLD OF OZ]. Sawhorse. A wooden model of the Sawhorse designed after John R. Neill’s original illustrations. This piece was created by Jack Vincent (long-time attendee of the Winkie Con/Oz Con International) and it bears “Vincent 1994” carved on the underside of the model. Crafted fully in wood, this piece is 23“ long and 10“ tall. The wooden tail appears to have had a sliver removed from one side – but whether that is by design or accident, we could not say. Jack Vincent did make Sawhorses from wood that he had collected in Yosemite, but it is unclear whether this particular wooden seahorse was one of those creations. A marvelous wooden sawhorse perfectly capturing one of Baum’s earlier magical creatures.
