Photographic endpapers; 8 color plates and numerous b&w textual illustrations. Corners and spine ends lightly rubbed, lower edge a tad so, faint spot at the top of front cover, slight discoloration at outer front hinge, else a near fine copy in original color pictorial dust jacket (some small chipping and wear around edges, spine lightly sunned).

1939 MGM movie edition, first printing, featuring photographic endpapers showing 10 stills from the beloved MGM musical. The jacket’s rear flap features a brief history of “The Wizard of Oz on the stage and screen.” Baum’s iconic American story featuring the adventures of Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman and the Cowardly Lion as they journey across Oz in search of the Wizard.
