NY: Charles Scribner’s Sons, 1902. 12mo, vi 349pp. Dark green cloth pictorially stamped in gilt; t.e.g. A half-tone plate showing a map of Kensington Garden tipped in. Some light rubbing to spine ends and corners, rear panel a bit scuffed, very small spot on rear edge of spine, bearing previous owner’s name on front free endpaper, which along with the first two leaves has another former owner’s name and address blind-stamped in the lower right corner.  Nonetheless, a quite attractive, internally clean, bright copy.

First edition. The Little White Bird is a series of short stories, set in London’s Kensington Gardens. Most noted for the first appearance of Barrie’s beloved character Peter Pan, introducing his mythology to the world for the first time, two years before the play debuted.
