First US edition, issued one year after the UK first, and the first appearance of the Beth and Joe Krush illustrations. 1952 Carnegie Medal Winner! Mary Norton’s beloved tale about the Clock family, a family of miniature human-like creatures that live in the nooks and crannies of a quiet country house who “borrow” what they need from the humans they strive to hide their existence from.
