Uncut complete set of sheets (not bound) from either the first printing or a prepublication salesman’s proof. A wonderful alphabet book with 26 stunning woodcuts in vibrant colors, each depicting a different animal to represent each letter of the alphabet. Famous for his World War I propaganda work, this gorgeous children’s book with it’s striking use of color was influential in shaping the use of graphics and imagery in American children’s books.
