The Day The Crayons Came Home
Author: Drew Daywalt
Illustrator: Oliver Jeffers
When Duncan finds a stack of letters in his crayon box at school, he’s surprised to discover that the letters are from the crayons – who have all quit!
Red crayon complains that he’s tired of drawing fire engines, apples, and all the hearts and Santas for the holidays. Purple is tired of him drawing outside the line. Gray is worn out having to color in those giant elephants.
Black doesn’t like just being used to outline stuff. Blue loves being a favorite, but is worn down to a stub. Orange and Yellow are fighting over who should be used as the color of the sun, and pink is upset because Patrick never uses him. What is Patrick to do?
