Color pictorial endpapers; 15 color plates and b&w illustrations throughout. Spine ends lightly rubbed, slight foxing to edges of sheets, minute traces of hand-soiling, else a clean, bright copy.
First edition. Published the year the Beatrix Potter was married and settled down to farming life for good, this is a charming tale of a pig meeting his soulmate. Potter had been keeping pigs on her farm and she sketched them for this story, using her own farmyard as the setting.
