Original watercolor by Ludwig Bemelmans for Marina (1962). Bemelmans' final picture book was published posthumously in 1962, and the artwork was displayed after his death by the Hammer Gallery. When displaying the artwork, Hammer Gallery created a stamp of the author/artist's signature with which they stamped his unsigned original artwork for this book, and you can see the stamped signature at the bottom of this piece of art. The image measures 13" x 9 1/2" and in housed in a 19 1/2" x 15 1/2" frame.
