Puppies and Piggies star in the middle-grade novels from New York City author JODI KENDALL. While you eat tasty treats, Ms. Kendall will read from her books and answer questions about writing, reading, and living with a real pig! Great for ages 7-12. Children must attend with an adult. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to check-in and find a seat. We will begin promptly at 3:30.

In The Unlikely Story of a Pig in the City, on Thanksgiving Day, Josie Shilling's older brother, Tom, brings home a tiny pink rescue piglet named Hamlet. The minute Josie holds Hamlet she feels an instant connection, but there's no room for Hamlet in the crowded Shilling household. And who ever heard of keeping a pig in the city? Now, it's up to Josie to find her a forever home.

Dog Days in the City is the sequel to The Unlikely Story of a Pig in the City. Josie Shilling loves animals and volunteers at the local animal clinic where she truly feels like herself. But then a mysterious box appears on the clinic’s front steps, and Josie suddenly finds herself in charge of a litter of adorable, mischievous puppies! There’s no way her parents will let her keep them, so Josie has two weeks to find them a forever home. But finding one home for Hamlet was hard enough—and now she needs seven!

Guests will enjoy a tiny tea and one-on-one time with the author as she reads from her books and answers questions. The tiny tea includes three finger sandwiches, two scones, a tiny cupcake, a fruit skewer, a cookie with icing for decorating, and your choice of milk, apple juice or orange juice. Any additional items can be chosen from A La Carte.

Guests will also receive a $15 gift card to Books of Wonder, with their ticket purchase which they can use at this event for JODI KENDALL's books or later on anything in store at our 18th street and 84th street locations.
