Books of Wonder needs to relocate! After 15 years at 18 West 18th Street in NYC, our lease is coming to an end.

We have found a wonderful new location not far from our current store, but to renovate and move in will require an investment of $250,000 to $350,000 (NYC isn't cheap!). So, we have reached out to the children's book community for support with a GoFundMe campaign and now with this auction.

After nearly 40 years in business and 15 years in the same location, we have accumulated loads of wonderful and unusual collectibles from all corners of the world of children's literature (and even some from other areas that came with children’s book collections we acquired). Signed, first editions, signed posters, original illustrations, and collectible ephemera – you name it, we have it, and we want to find them all good homes. With this auction, we’re opening up our treasure trove to all of you! All proceeds from the auction will be put towards our Go Fund Me goal (listed anonymously) and ultimately the cost of us relocating.

As of September 2nd, Books of Wonder began its 40th year in business. We hope to serve the children, families, authors, artists, and children's book community of the NYC area and beyond for many more years to come. With your help and that of our other many friends and supporters, we hope this will be possible.
