Virtual
Five very different teens at the Chandler Academy, an elite Connecticut boarding school, find themselves drawn together by their membership in an exclusive writing club. The five - Beth, Sarah, Spence, Ramin, and Freddy - are all struggling in their own ways, and the club is their refuge from the toxic campus culture and their own pain. But as they grow closer to each other, opening up and sharing their truths, the costs of confronting Chandler Academy’s long swept-under-the-rug legacy of bullying, homophobia, racism, and sexual assault threaten to ruin it all.
The Chandler Legacies' blend of sharp social commentary, prep-school romance, and hope blends together for a beautiful, heartbreaking, and ultimately heartwarming story about standing up for yourself - and for the people you care about.
Stop by this virtual launch for a chance to meet Lambda Award-winning author, ABDI NAZEMIAN, as he answers questions about his latest book - including how his own experiences at a prep school influenced his writing. Joining ABDI NAZEMIAN will be Adib Khorram, Arvin Ahmadi, Alexandra Monir, and Sara Saedi! This is an absolutely not to be missed event, featuring five of YA literature's most incredible Iranian-American writers! These four amazing writers are the authors of the award-winning and best-selling Darius the Great is Not Okay, How It All Blew Up, The Final Six, and Americanized: Rebel Without a Green Card (among other incredible titles!) This event is an amazing opportunity to not only meet all five of these much loved authors, but to listen in on their their amazing conversations about writing and identity.
