Caldecott Anniversaries
A Children's Book Week Event!
There is no greater award for a picture book artist that the coveted Caldecott Medal. Awarded annually by the American Library Association for the most distinguished American picture book published the previous year. First awarded in 1937, its recipients are among the most celebrated artist in children's book history.
This year, four of our favorite artist are celebrating significant anniversaries of their books which have been honored by the Caldecott Committee. Join us as we celebrate with CHRIS VAN ALLSBURG for the 40th anniversary of Jumanji, DAVID WIESNER for the 30th anniversary of Tuesday (as well as the 20th anniversary of The Three Pigs, and the 15th anniversary of Flotsam), PAUL O. ZELINSKY, for the 25th anniversary of Rumpelstiltskin, BRYAN COLLIER for the 20th anniversary of Martin's Big Words, and CHRIS RASCHKA for the 10th anniversary of A Ball for Daisy. Each of these incredibly talented artists will talk about their, receiving the big news, how this achievement has affected their careers. Saturday November 13th at 1:00pm via Crowdcast.
