A Very Special Book Launch
In Celebration of Madeleine L'Engle

“A book, too, can be a star, a living fire to lighten the darkness, leading out into the expanding universe.” MADELEINE L'ENGLE, author of A Wrinkle In Time

Join us for the launch of A Book, Too, Can Be A Star on Monday, October 3rd at 6:00PM, Live & In-Person at Books of Wonder on 17th Street. This stunning picture book evokes the story of Madeleine L'Engle by Madeleine's own granddaughter, CHARLOTTE JONES VOIKLIS, and bestselling co-author JENNIFER ADAMS!

When Madeleine L'Engle was very small  — long before she grew up to become one of the world's most cherished storytellers — she often found herself awake at night, marveling at the stars. They guided her throughout her life, making her feel part of a big and exciting world, even when she felt alone. They made her want to ask big questions — Why are we here? What is my place in the universe? — and let her imagination take flight. Books, too, were like stars — asking questions and proposing answers. Books kept Madeleine company, and soon, she began to write and share her own.

Back then, she asked: would other people see the wonder she found in the world? This launch event is our own kind of answer. A Book, Too, Can Be A Star gives you and your young reader the spark we all need to lead creative, intrepid lives. Join us to meet CHARLOTTE JONES VOIKLIS, JENNIFER ADAMS, and our booksellers with a lifelong love of Madeleine L'Engle, who can help you and your young reader find all the Madeleine L'Engle titles you know and adore — or always meant to read!
